The Harrison County Health Department purchases influenza vaccine every year for county residents to receive their annual flu shots.
We hold several Flu Clinics to make sure that anyone that wants a flu shot can get one at no charge. Flu Clinics are advertised via local media outlets.
Please note: For 2016 we will NOT be offering the LAIV (live attenuated influenza vaccine) or Flumist for the 2016-2017 flu season. Earlier this year the CDC and Prevention Advisory Committee recommended the Flumist not be used because recent studies show the vaccine is ineffective. We will still be offering the quadrivalent injectable flu vaccine for people 6 months and over.
