Car Seat Safety

The Harrison County Health Department has a Child Passenger Safety (CPS) technician on staff who is available to conduct carseat safety checks, assist in proper carseat installation and provide carseats to families in need.  A child's safety while in a motor vehicle is one of the Health Department's primary concerns.

The Carseat Safety program teaches parents how to safely install a carseat in their vehicle and how to fasten their child in it properly.

If you have any questions or doubts about carseat safety, please call the Harrison County Health Department at (660) 425-6324 for more information or ask for Delcena when you come in for your WIC or well-child appointment.

Did you know?

Carseats have an expiration date six (6) years after the manufacture date.  They should NEVER be used after that date.  Hand-me-downs or "garage sale" carseats are highly discouraged due to the carseat's unknown history.
